Raw, glorious, and understatedly beautiful heathen black metal in the tradition of Bilskirnir, the BBH, and Graveland - minus the racist nonsense. Has the rough-hewn beauty of the Eddic poems, and the wolfish wrath of the berserkers. For all the stern melodies and stomping punk beats, though, Winds of Gladsheimr doesn't come off as dark or hateful in any direct way. This is big-hearted music for high adventure and solitary wanderings, evoking primeval wonder at the might of nature and the deeds of the gods. Also FFO Aurvandil, Caverne, Fluisteraars, etc.
